Bird Banter

The next workshop on the 8th and 9th February focuses on the Bird Banter set and the Beautiful Peacock Sale-A-bration stamp set.  You will find lots of samples of both sets on pinterest as they are really quite a quirky couple of sets.

The Bird Banter has some cute, funny sayings, particularly useful if you are late for a birthday, or just need to find a funny greeting.

These are great images for colouring, whether using the Stampin' Blends, Markers or water colour pencils.

The Beautiful Peacock is a gorgeous set that can be so useful, the tail section can be used on its own as a flourish or corner piece.  This set works so well with embossing powders to really make a striking statement.

Sign up for Feb's classes closes on Friday 3rd, and remember if you order £45 of Stampin' goodies not only can you choose a free Sale-A-Bration product, but also get the class for FREE!.

Beautiful Day and Brusho

The Beautiful Day stamp set was designed for colouring, it has open spaces to allow you to colour in whatever way suits your style.  This video shows you a way to do the Stained Glass technique with Brusho.

Stained Glass technique is about colouring on vellum on the reverse of the image, this way you don't have to be totally neat and in the lines and gives a lovely diffused look on your project.

I had great fun doing this and I hope you like, please let me know what you thought.  Remember you can buy any of the goodies featured and have a play yourself, just click on the links before.

I also wanted to show you the effect of using the Stampin' Markers (first picture in Berry Burst) and with Stampin' Blends (calypso Coral).  Which do you prefer?

Team Training

One of the things I love about my job as a demonstrator is the people I share the experience with.  Stampin' Up is a direct sales/network marketing company and the teams you build and are a part of are central to the success of your business.

This job may have come about because I love crafting and I love sharing the joy of craft, whether that this through posting cards and displaying projects or through showing people how to achieve the same results, it is a business.  Having that support from your team and being able to join in the success of others really helps to put things into perspective and help your business grow, as well as yourself.

I am doing things today that 2 years ago I wouldn't have thought I would have the confidence to do, and that is down to my team and the support I receive.  This month has really been an influx of training and support.

At the beginning of the month I joined Exceptional Beginnings 2018 Kick Off event, which was a brilliant session on goal setting and planning for 2018.  Really dragged my motivation up and I am so excited for what this year can bring for myself and my team.

My team came around for a quick session and we are sending best wishes to Sharon as she continues her journey in Cornwall. Here is a photo of us all!

One of the things I like to do when we get together is challenge my team to design a card for us all to make, and they didn't let me down.  Annette designed this gorgeous Party Panda card, so simple but brilliant.

This Saturday we joined in to the Twinklets and Acorns quarterly training.  This time they tried a new format and based it over Facebook, rather than trying to get us all to one place as a group.  I was really excited to see how this would work....and they didn't let me down.  Joanna joined me for the day and we watched the Facebook lives and the pre-record videos and made several beautiful cards!  I even won a competition.

Here a couple of the cards me made using the Picture Perfect Birthday papers and stamp sets from the Occasions Catalogue.

If you like the sound of what I have been up to, then joining Stampin' Up during Sale-a-Bration is the best idea.  Not only do you get a stunning deal of £130 of kit for £99, but also your choice of two additional stamp sets for FREE (and free P+P).  Email me now to discuss further or just click through to my website for the sign-up link.

Faux Masking with Brusho

I am a bit late week this week with details of this week's video.

In this video I show you a simply way to create a 'masked' effect with word dies.  I chose to do it this way as the dies were very thin and fiddly and I don't think I would get clear definition between the words and colour background by holding a mask down.

This way I die cut the words from the same type of cardstock as the backing and add on to the background.

Let me know what you think below.  Please feel free to purchase the goodies and have a try yourself! The links are below.
