Here is a sneaky peak of what we will be making during the sessions

Yep, told you it was just a sneak peak!

At the Open House I will have old stamp sets for sale, selection of projects showcasing some of the products in the Occasions Catalogue and list of upcoming classes.

I am also doing a Occasions Catalogue paper-share, if you would like to take part or find out more please email me by 2nd January.

Family Christmas

This is my last blog post before Christmas, and there will not be a post next Wednesday.  Service will be resume on Wednesday 3rd January will full swing into the Occasions 2018 Catalogue and the Sale-A-Bration Mini Catalogue!

Last cards I want to show you are the ones for my family.

These three are for my three girls, using bits and pieces I had cut out but not used.

This one was for my husband, who has been very supportive of my business this year.  It also uses a new product from the Occasions Catalogue - Brusho Crystal Colour.

As I stated the next post will be about the new catalogues.  If you would like a copy please message me and I will post one out, or you can see it online from the 2nd January.

In the meantime have a lovely Christmas and New Year, and don't forget to shop on the Clearance Rack (updated this week) and the Year End Sale.

Tuesday 12 December 2017

Well this week I am putting myself out of my comfort zone and applying to be a Display Board Stamper for the April 2018 Onstage Local event in Telford (more about that later).

To apply I need to show examples of my work and fill an application form, and therefore I thought I would share my selection of projects here:

The first requirement was Three Card Fronts (Standard Size).

This is a peekaboo card I showcased at the beginning of September to show how you could use the products from the Autumn/Winter catalogue all year around.  I do love the Spooky Nights DSP as it has such a 1970's feel to the patterns and colours in the paper.

This was using the Perfect Days Memories and More pack and the large Happy Birthday die, such a simple but effective card.

This card uses the Birthday Memories DSP, such a great DSP for making cards like this.  Cheeky fox for a very sweet birthday card.

The second requirement was One Scrapbooking piece, well I have listed two, to show the different ways you can use the Memories and More card packs.

This 12x12 scrapbook piece uses the Naturally Eclectic DSP and the Perfect Days Memories and More pack (and it was such a perfect day!).  I haven't scrapbooked for long, but looking back now for this application makes appreciate why I should.

This 12x12 Memories and More piece shows the more traditional way of using the Colour Theory Memories and More pack, very quick and simple to use and complete.

The last requirement was a 3d item, I had difficulty find evidence of this because although I do make 3d items, they are more for personal use than for classes so I didn't have a lot of photos, however I found a couple that I really loved.

This was a Teacher's gift I made using the Delightful Daisy DSP.  The bit that I loved was that the card on front on the box was part of the box!  Anyway Emma's Teacher loved it.

This is a card and Treat Tube holder in one, it was a design I cased from a swap I received from Onstage Local in November.  I changed the cardstock and used the Merry Music DSP. I also added a tag to the Treat Tube from the Seasonal Chums as that set is sooooo cute!

I said I would come back to Onstage, it is an experience you will not want to miss.  Onstage is a biannual demonstrator only crafty event where we get to see the next catalogue early and get a chance to play and purchase items 2 months before they go live to everyone else (and possible gt some items as prizes!).  But thats not the best bit, the best bit is the community, meeting other demonstrators and joining in the love of Stampin' Up.

Advent Calendar

Well, this was a labour of love and no mistake!  It really tested my patience to get this right for my daughter.

I used the mini pizza boxes for the calendar and papers from the Quilted Christmas DSP stack.

I also used the large number dies and a mixture of paper doilies from the Annual Catalogue (basically raided my embellishment box).

I stuck the boxes back to back to save space.  My first idea was to hang the boxes on ribbon from a branch.

However, I failed to take into account my three year old who likes to pull and play with everything in sight! I didn't have anywhere I could hang it for my 9 yr old to reach that the youngest couldn't!

I then tried to glue them together in a circle, however the boxes were too heavy to stay joined together.  I also found that it was best to have the pizza box opening at the top and not the bottom as the chocolate coins kept falling out.

Eventually, I ended up with this configuration, which works and everything stays in! My daughter also likes it!

There is so much going on this month:

This is what 80 cards look like!

I am sure you have probably made more cards than that in one day, however that is my record.  I am rather proud of them and pleased to have got them done quickly - many thanks to pinterest for the ideas!

These cards are not for my family but a donation to 'The Little Present Project' set up by Paige Fergusson to ensure that residents in local care homes who may not have any family have presents at Christmas.  I felt that having a handmade card to open as well would also be appreciated.  If you would like to donate presents or money, please visit the Facebook page.

This card uses the gorgeous Year of Cheer speciality designer series paper.  It has the most wonderful foiling in silver, gold and bronze.  The Champagne foil sheets that are also in the Autumn/Winter catalogue works so well with this cardstock, even though you have the three different 'metals'.

Like the cards above these are only small 3x4" cards, but they are just the right size for the Everyday Label Punch and the Merry Little Labels stamp set, and I have to say I love the Merry Music Speciality DSP.

Now, I have to apologise as you are unable to get this stamp set any longer.  You were able to purchase this stamp set during October if your order was over £300, and is now unavailable.  But don't worry - just enjoy the photo!

This is a simple card using an old favorite stamp set - Flurry of Wishes - from the annual catalogue.  I love the style of snowflakes and the font for the greetings.  The colour in the background was created using the new Blends alcohol markers.

Well, I hope the residents like the cards and I hope The Little Present Project achieves what it hopes to, that everyone receives a little bit of the spirit of Christmas this year.

Remember to book you place for this months workshops by Friday 1st December.
